Almost done with week 1. I have been considering the space that this site can occupy; the sweet spot it can provide. Briefly, so far:
adjacent to politics but not abstracted away by politics. Focused on real societal issues that contribute to enshittification.
on the other hand not entirely consumed by the symptoms of specific enshittification instances. That is something that a place like https://www.reddit.com/r/enshittification already does very well, and with much feeling.
coordination of actionable items, like fliers (education) , petitions (collective action), other campaigns.
a promise to never enshittify this site and community we build. For those who know me from previous sites or irl, this isnt just talk. If we scale, we will scale in a distributed way that will be hard to enshittify.
an interest in connecting all the communities addressing enshittification and strategies to combat it. We are all in this together. This site will always act like it
without going too far down the rabbit hole, in terms of conduct, just be cool, dont crap on others, allow for revisions, this is a place to kick ideas around, and no idea is ever a perfect thing, but sometimes its good enough.
